Letters from Edmond Malone to Thomas Astle, 1795 December 31 [manuscript], 18th or 19th century?

(1) Original autograph letter signed from Malone with integral address leaf. (2) Copy of (1) entitled "Ireland Forgeries: Important Holograph Letter from Edmond Malone to Thomas Astle." Summary at the top: "asking for for a specimen of the handwriting of Lord Southampton for reproduction in his forthcoming book demonstrating the spurious character of the Ireland manuscript. The endorsement in Astle's hand shows that the manuscript he had copied for Malone was Vesp.F.xiij. B.Cottore. Malone's Enquiry p. 165."
