Summary at the top: "asking for for a specimen of the handwriting of Lord Southampton for reproduction in his forthcoming book demonstrating the spurious character of the Ireland manuscript. The endorsement in Astle's hand shows that the manuscript he had copied for Malone was Vesp.F.xiij. B.Cottore. Malone's Enquiry p. 165."
